“The City of Military Glory” is the official title deservedly awarded to Bendery. This is the name of the monument erected at the entrance to the city and telling about the heroic pages of Bendery history. The PMR President laid flowers at the granite stele as part of the mourning events. Servicemen of the Honor Guard Company lowered a basket of memorial scarlet carnations to the pedestal with the appropriate ceremony.
06/23/1992 is another sad date for Pridnestrovians. It is carved on a stone installed at the site of death of guardsmen column. The inscription “To the City Defenders” is comprehensive in its mournful laconicism. Vadim Krasnoselsky visited this memorable place, bowed to the soldiers who were forever united by a common day of tragic death.
There is another memorial stone telling about the events associated with the creation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in Panina Street. It was installed in 2010 as a reminder of the feat of Pridnestrovian women defenders. The unveiling of the sign coincided with the anniversary of the creation of the Women's Strike Committee. Members of this organization are still actively involved in the public life of the country. They will definitely gather at the monument on the 19th of June. The PMR, President First President of the PMR Igor Smirnov, heads of public and administrative authorities, and the head of the city traditionally come to lay flowers.
