State prizes are awarded by presidential decree every year for outstanding achievements in the field of science and innovation. Honorary titles of laureates were awarded this year to the authors of “The Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. History" Atlas. The PMR President personally presented the corresponding signs and documents to Mikhail Burla, Anna Volkova, Maria Zalozhkova, Sergei Razumov, Vitaly Sinika, Roman Tatarov, Nikolai Telnov and Sergei Fidelsky. The ceremony took place in the meeting hall of the Administration of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Welcoming the recipients, Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed gratitude to them for their research work, the result of which at this stage was the third edition of the atlas updated and expanded. The volume exceeded the previous edition by two dozen pages. Time coverage is from the Paleolithic to 2022.
Documenting history and preventing its perversion is an important task that Pridnestrovian scientists successfully cope with, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized. He noted that the pages of the atlas compactly, accessiblely and reliably reflect hundreds of thousands of years of history of the Pridnestrovian land. The President focused on the fact that there is continuity among the historians of Pridnestrovie: today’s laureates are not only eminent and experienced historians, archaeologists, publicists, but also young specialists. Vadim Krasnoselsky addressed words of gratitude and support to the family of Igor Krisko, who was awarded the prize posthumously. He passed away in the spring of this year. The award was received by his daughter. Igor Krisko actively participated in the creation of the first two editions of the atlas of Pridnestrovie at one time.
The circulation of the atlas is 1000 copies. The second volume is currently in progress. The team being honored today is working on creating history textbooks. The meeting participants said that historical science like history itself does not know stagnation. The interlocutors noted the task of historians is to present, without allowing perversion. They talked about government support and plans for the future, including regarding the development of the museum sector.
