Today is marked as the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity in the secular calendar and July 8 in the church calendar is the day of remembrance of Saints Peter and Fevronya, the Orthodox patrons of marriage. Pridnestrovians do not divide these holidays. Traditions are intertwined. They handed out daisies in the morning to passers-by - symbols of this day and a happy family life. A religious procession was organized in the center of the capital in the evening. Residents of Tiraspol and guests of the city walked from the Church of the Nativity of Christ to the chapel on Pokrovskaya Square, where a thanksgiving prayer was held. The service was conducted by Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Sawa. The Krasnoselsky family took part. The PMR President was accompanied by his wife, children and grandchildren.
Church ministers treated the participants of the festive event to ice cream at the end of the service. Refreshing sweets were from the Tiraspol Dairy Plant. A screening of the documentary film “How to Learn to Love” was organized for those interested, the authors of which reflect on the art of creating and maintaining a family. The film will be shown at 19:20 at the cinema of Tiraspol, entrance is gratis.
