The Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova arrived in Tiraspol. Kelly Keiderling was accompanied by political advisors. European diplomats were received by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky. The meeting took place at the presidential executive office. The receiving party was also represented by the PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev.
Welcoming the guests, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized the importance of the visit in the current difficult times, which require maintaining dialogue and exchanging relevant and reliable information. The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic called the existing geopolitical situation unstable, noting that it did not contribute to the development of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova, but on the contrary stopped it. Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed hope that the “Permanent Conference...” will resume full-fledged work in the traditional “5+2” format. He noted that the negotiating tools are used ineffectively at this stage, and the often meetings have no practical value. The decisions taken not only do not solve the accumulated problems, but also aggravate the situation. The need to resume the work of the vehicle registration point, solving the problems faced by Pridnestrovian participants in foreign economic activity, ensuring freedom of movement of citizens, and others were among the topics that the interlocutors agreed to discuss.
The meeting participants mentioned a possible visit to Pridnestrovie by the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Bujar Osmani.
