The meeting of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov took place at the presidential executive office. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vitaly Ignatiev took part in the discussion.

Welcoming the guest, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized the importance of maintaining contacts, especially in such a difficult time. The PMR President noted that the difficulties of the past two years associated with the coronavirus pandemic and its consequences have been replaced by new trials of geopolitical origin, which have a serious negative impact on the state of affairs in Pridnestrovie. Despite all the difficulties, Pridnestrovie remains committed to the principles of peacefulness and good neighborliness, building a dialogue exclusively in a peaceful way, said Vadim Krasnoselsky, stressing that he aims international partners to adhere to this position during various meetings.

Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled a dozen terrorist and provocative acts, noting that the law enforcement system of the republic controls the situation. The crimes are being investigated. Criminal cases have been initiated. According to one fact, the customer and the performers were identified. The investigation of others continues. Vadim Krasnoselsky pointed to the interconnection of all these terrorist attacks.

The interlocutors focused on the Pridnestrovian-Russian interaction. They talked about disrupted export-import logistics and inaccessibility of sales markets. Particular attention was paid to the situation in which hundreds of thousands of Russian citizens and compatriots living in the republic found themselves. Vadim Krasnoselsky focused on the inefficiency of the mechanism for keeping a record of citizens, noting that only electronic acceptance of applications is in effect, while the system often fails, and the resource is increasingly unavailable to users. The PMR President gave examples of difficult life situations that turned out to be hopeless for Pridnestrovian Russians due to problems with documents, emphasizing that there is a violation of the rights of citizens. The imposition of penalties for untimely extended documents was another aspect pointed out by Vadim Krasnoselsky. The amount of the fine is 1170 lei. The fact that citizens have become hostages of circumstances and they are not guilty is not taken into account, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted. He recalled his appeal to the highest officials of the Russian Federation on the identified issues, as well as the assurance of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov that the issue would be resolved soon. The PMR President mentioned the recently prepared appeal of the members of the Consultative Assembly of the first Pridnestrovian deputies, addressed to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. Vadim Krasnoselsky handed over the document to the addressee through the Ambassador.

The PMR President in the course of the conversation with the Russian diplomat noted that the world community is actively discussing the news that Russia has announced the introduction of a simplified procedure for granting Russian citizenship to residents of a number of foreign territories.

Vadim Krasnoselsky asked to return to solving existing problems, intensify work in this direction, and fulfill the promises given to Pridnestrovians.

Oleg Vasnetsov in turn spoke about the work being done by the embassy. The diplomat emphasized the importance of the exchange of views and open discussion of the current agenda.
