The Supreme Council approved the presidential decree on the introduction of state of emergency in Pridnestrovie

The first emergency meeting of the IV session of the VII convocation was held in the PMR Supreme Council. The deputy corps was urgently assembled in connection with the decision taken the day before by the Security Council to introduce a state of emergency in Pridnestrovie. The proposed measure is due to the high risk of a general economic crisis caused by a 30% reduction in the volume of natural gas supplies to the republic. According to the results of the current month, almost 37 million cubic meters will not be received. The measures taken earlier – the postponed start of the heating season and the minimization of gas supplies to the industrial sector – will make it possible to cover 22 million of the missing ones. Additional measures are needed to save energy.

The shortage provoked the insufficiency of natural gas supply to industrial enterprises, heat supply organizations, and electricity consumers. It became impossible in addition to fully fulfill the obligations to generate electricity for export. The President yesterday signed a decree on the introduction of a special legal regime in the economy. Such a decision was made for the first time in Pridnestrovian history. Vadim Krasnoselsky proposed extending the decree until the end of this month – for 11 days. The introduction of state of emergency is possible only if the initiative is supported by the people's representatives. The deputies of the Supreme Council, having listened to the arguments, having received answers to their questions, approved the presidential decree, unanimously supporting all the measures proposed in it. We are talking about the redistribution of natural gas supplies between industrial and household consumers to ensure uninterrupted supply of gas and heat to the population, as well as the priority of domestic consumption of electricity produced by MGRES. The volume of natural gas supplied to the Dniester station to generate electricity for export will be limited. Details will be written in the decree of the PMR Government. The Decree of the PMR President "On the introduction of state of emergency on the territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic" will enter into force six hours after its promulgation.
