Vadim Krasnoselsky met with the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Thomas Mayr-Harting

Vadim Krasnoselsky met at the conference hall of the "Bastion" hotel and restaurant complex on the territory of the Bendery Fortress with the delegation of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. The group of visitors is headed by the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Thomas Mayr-Harting. The European delegation included the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Claus Neukirch, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Moldova Katarina Martholm Fried, as well as advisers in various spheres. The Pridnestrovian side in addition to the PMR President was represented by the PMR Supreme Council Chairman Alexander Korshunov, Vice Speaker of the Pridnestrovian Parliament Galina Antyufeyeva, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev, Head of the Union of Industrialists of Entrepreneurs and Agrarians of Pridnestrovie Yuri Cheban and Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Association of Transport and Road Workers of Pridnestrovie Sergey Martsinko.

Welcoming the guests, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted the importance of the upcoming dialogue, expressing the hope that it will be fruitful and filled with practical content. The PMR President said that the negotiating situation in recent years does not cause optimism. He emphasized that the Berlin+ agenda has remained relevant for several years, and this indicates a lack of movement forward. Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled the five final protocols signed in 2017-2018 and the reached agreements that Pridnestrovie regularly fulfills, but the Moldovan side persistently ignores, avoiding its obligations under all sorts of pretexts. The PMR President noted the particular acuteness of such aspects as the freedom of movement of Pridnestrovian vehicles and banking issues. He drew attention to the fact that representatives of the transport association of the republic and the Union of industrialists, agrarians and entrepreneurs of Pridnestrovie were invited to the meeting, who can present in detail and with specific examples the complexity of the situation in which Pridnestrovians find themselves due to restrictions.

Vadim Krasnoselsky noted at the same time the active Swedish participation in the negotiations and the striving of the OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office to achieve practical results.

Thomas Mayr-Harting introduced the new Swedish ambassador to the interlocutors and said that he was preparing the visit of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, scheduled for the 6th of October this year. The upcoming communication with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden will make it possible to qualitatively prepare for the meeting of the participants in the "5 + 2" format. The tentatively estimated time for the event is November 2021.

The interlocutors are discussing the conditions for organizing and holding upcoming meetings, are determining with agenda. One of the most important issues in the current circumstances is the participation of vehicles with Pridnestrovian license plates in international transport. European diplomats indicated that they are aimed at discussing working options for solving the problem. The Pridnestrovian side announced its proposals. The participants in the meeting expressed their readiness to conduct the dialogue till the end of the agenda.
