The President invited the head of the PMR State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage for a working meeting. Vadim Krasnoselsky and Maria Kyrmyz discussed the current situation and outlined plans for the upcoming year, which has been officially designated the Year of Cultural Heritage in Pridnestrovie.
Maria Kyrmyz noted that the service she leads oversees and coordinates the activities of 305 institutions; one-third are located in urban areas, while the rest are in rural areas. Six organizations report directly to the State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage: the State Theater, the Tiraspol Cinema and Concert Complex, the Pridnestrovian State Art Museum, the Rubinstein Institute of Arts, the Postoykin Higher College of Arts, and the Palace of the Republic (which houses five state performance groups: a choir, a symphony orchestra, a circus troupe, "Viorika," and "Liberty"). A total of 3428 people are employed in the cultural sector. Staffing levels stand at 94% for specialists and 90% for general staff. Creative groups perform both locally and on tour. Six thousand cultural events took place in the first half of the year. For instance, the Palace of the Republic and the Theater named after Aronetskaya held twenty of their 246 performances, concerts, and circus shows outside their main venues in the republic's various cities and districts.
Regarding film distribution, Maria Kyrmyz stated that the activity is strictly regulated by the State Service. Feature films and animated movies imported from abroad undergo mandatory review. There is significant public demand for this type of content.
The Capital Investment Fund was also discussed. A large-scale renovation of the State Institute of Arts' three-story building was carried out under the capital investment program; repair work on the structure, which dates back to 1936, has now been completed. It is expected that the certificate authorizing the facility's operation will be signed in the coming days. All that remains is to install the internet connection and refresh the façade; the necessary funds have been allocated.
Discussions touched upon the schedule of events for the 2026 Year of the Pridnestrovian People. Of the 138 planned activities, 93 (67%) have already been completed. Preparations are currently underway for 2027, which has been officially designated the Year of Cultural Heritage of Pridnestrovie. Focus will be placed on preserving, studying, and promoting the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the country and its people. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized the importance of the cultural sector and highlighted the wealth of talent found in Pridnestrovie.
