Welcoming the representatives of the American Embassy headed by Dereck Hogan, the PMR President noted that the Pridnestrovian side is happy to have the opportunity to discuss the existing situation. The political events that took place in Moldova have blocked dynamics in the negotiation process. Despite the fact that the situation has stabilized in the neighboring state, no progress has been observed in the negotiation process, including the “5 + 2” format, noted Vadim Krasnoselsky. Issues in such areas as telecommunications, termination of politically motivated criminal cases, interbank cooperation, full functioning of the northern section of the railway, the problems of joint Moldovan-Ukrainian control on the border with Pridnestrovie remain relevant.
Vadim Krasnoselsky reminded that the Pridnestrovian side fulfilled the previously agreed obligations. He emphasized that he is counting on Moldova’s responsible approach to the continuation of the practical implementation of the full range of signed agreements.
The US ambassador supported this position, noting that he arrived in Pridnestrovie precisely in order to discuss topical issues in the light of the political changes that took place in Moldova and outline the US vision on all aspects of the negotiation agenda.
The interlocutors exchanged views on a wide range of issues and discussed a number of aspects of bilateral cooperation between Pridnestrovie and the United States.
