Located in Dnestrovsk one of the budget-forming enterprises of Pridnestrovie, Moldavian GRES continues to generate electricity for the needs of the Pridnestrovian consumer in the absence of gas supply. The station is capable of generating electricity technologically using three types of fuel. Coal is used currently. One power unit No. 5, launched into operation in 1967 is operating, the President was told during his visit to the enterprise. Vadim Krasnoselsky visited the fifth unit, which provides the country with a vital energy resource, talked to the management and employees of the station. He asked about the technical condition of the equipment. The President was informed that preventive maintenance and repairs are carried out systematically – according to the approved schedule, so all equipment, even that which has not been modernized, is operational. The installed capacity of unit No. 5 is 200 MW. The coal reserves were examined and discussed. They talked about the technology of its supply and ensuring the environmental safety of the production process. The President asked about the readiness to resume generation on natural gas. The enterprise is ready. The President was accompanied during the inspection by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic – Minister of Economic Development Sergey Obolonik, Deputy Head of the Operational Headquarters for Energy Issues, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vitaly Neagu and General Director of MGRES Valentin Trubchanin.
