The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky took part in the plenary session of the PMR Supreme Council. One of the issues included to the agenda is the statement of the Pridnestrovian parliamentarians, designed to draw the attention of the world community to the situation around Pridnestrovie, which the deputies described as explosive. The text of the deputy's statement was voiced by Vice Speaker Galina Antyufeeva, having previously noted that a meeting of the relevant parliamentary committee took place today, in which the PMR Minister of Foreign Affairs took part. Vitaly Ignatiev informed the deputies in detail about the state of affairs in foreign policy and the impact of geopolitical processes on the situation in Pridnestrovie.
“The leadership and deputies of the supreme representative and legislative body of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, expressing the will of the multinational people of Pridnestrovie, responsibly declare that the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic is an exceptionally peace-loving state, committed to the principles of neutrality and resolving all conflicts at the negotiating table. We have never nourished any aggressive plans against neighboring countries or other members of the international community.
Pridnestrovie in the entire history of its existence has not given a single reason to doubt our good neighborly intentions, openness to constructive and mutually respectful cooperation. Pridnestrovie has sheltered tens of thousands of Ukrainian refugees on its territory and is ready to continue to provide all necessary assistance to people in a difficult situation despite the objective economic difficulties associated with the current situation.
The PMR Supreme Council firmly stands on the position of unwavering support for negotiation methods in the process of regulating relations with the Republic of Moldova, based on the opinion and will of the people. We also stand for a constructive dialogue with Ukraine, with which Pridnestrovie has broad historical, ethnic, economic and cultural ties.
Any statements by Ukrainian officials about the possibility of any aggressive actions both on the part of Pridnestrovie and on the part of Russian military personnel stationed on its territory are groundless.
Pridnestrovie firmly adheres to the principle of peaceful coexistence and does not conduct any military preparations.
The Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic calls on the leadership of the neighboring Republic of Moldova to abandon any plans to militarize their state, believing that their implementation does not contribute to building confidence on the part of Pridnestrovie and will not help ensure peace and stability on the banks of the Dniester.
The Supreme Council like the entire multinational people of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic being a supporter of peace and mutual understanding in this context calls on the leadership of neighboring states to realistically assess the situation, take a balanced approach, take into consideration the constructive position of Pridnestrovie, and prevent the escalation of tension in the common regional space," - says the text of the statement of the Supreme Council of the PMR, unanimously adopted by the deputy corps.
The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky supported the initiative of the people's deputies, noting that the statement reflects the opinion of the Pridnestrovian people. The President emphasized that the Pridnestrovian position of peacefulness and good neighborliness has been preserved for decades. Vadim Krasnoselsky said that residents of the neighboring country for a long period were told that Pridnestrovie was a danger, forming a negative image of the enemy of the Ukrainian and Moldovan peoples. Vadim Krasnoselsky called the allegations of alleged preparations of Pridnestrovie for military operations and the likelihood of aggression against Ukraine false, provocative and unfounded today, noting that it is impossible to hide this kind of preparation. Vadim Krasnoselsky assured of the desire of the Pridnestrovians to maintain peace and readiness to continue providing assistance to citizens of Ukraine in need of it.
“Ignorance of the situation is regrettable. The people of both Ukraine and Moldova have been instilled with the image of the enemy in the person of Pridnestrovie for the past ten years or even more, creating a bad image of the Pridnestrovian people for the world community. By and large, the leadership of Moldova and Ukraine frightened their own people. Unfortunately, Pridnestrovie got into a difficult situation when we have to justify ourselves, prove our peace-loving position. By and large, everything that comes from the TV screens in Moldova and Ukraine is for the domestic consumer, it is not for us, we understand everything. Of course, the statements of some officials are alarming. Our position is constant – peace in the Pridnestrovian land, peace around us. We are supporters and adherents of the negotiation process. For the entire time of our existence, almost for 32 years, we have shown how a multinational people should live in peace. We created the Pridnestrovian people that consist of 72 nationalities. Perhaps this is annoying: the unrecognized state is an example and guarantor of peace, but the recognized ones could not agree. Therefore, we remain in our positions, we do not nourish aggressive plans against our neighbors, but we are definitely ready to defend ourselves in case of aggression against the PMR, let no one doubt this”, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized. The President called the statement adopted by the legislators important, emphasizing once again that it reflects the position of the leadership and people of Pridnestrovie.
The statement of the Supreme Council will be sent to the participants of the 5+2 format and distributed through the media.
