Excellent students, winners of subject Olympiads, of creative competitions, of sports competitions and intellectual games, participants in various festivals and events gathered today in the conference hall of the presidential executive office. The PMR President met there with schoolchildren, gymnasium students, lyceum students, cadets and Suvorov pupils, whose achievements deserve special attention. The interlocutors of the President – about forty persons – represent towns and regions of the republic, various institutions of general and additional education. Everyone has distinguished themselves in some area.
Welcoming the young people, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that he takes special pleasure in meeting them, energizing with their energy and spirit for development.
The young people, activists by nature, entered into a dialogue with the first person of the state. They talked about themselves, asked questions, shared plans and ideas. They talked about new technologies, youth employment, participation of Pridnestrovians in various international projects, volunteering, travel, dreams, family and friendship, adolescence and the problem of “burnout”. They discussed what was more appropriate: learning new things or improving existing skills. They discussed the pros and cons of the Unified State Exam and the Bologna educational system. The President said that he prefers exam classics and considers the Soviet approach to organizing the educational process the most effective. The President emphasized at the same time that life is constant study and passing exams, among which school exams are the simplest.
Many questions addressed to the President were related to his childhood and youth. Vadim Krasnoselsky said that he considers his school years to be the best time of his life. He named the teachers whose memories he keeps in his heart to this day. He shared his memories of his student days and life plans that adjusted the circumstances associated with the collapse of the Soviet Union. He spoke about his special interest in history, physics and mathematics, about studying at a music school, his childhood dream of following in his father’s footsteps and becoming a military man, and about the path to the presidency. The guys asked about people who were authoritative for Vadim Krasnoselsky. The President named first of all his father and included Suvorov, Emperor Alexander III and Pyotr Stolypin among these people. The President was asked about his life principles. Vadim Krasnoselsky considers gratitude, forgiveness and honesty to be basic. According to him, he is guided by them both in his personal life and in his professional activities. Another rule, following which, according to the President, contributes to development: if someone can do it, so can I.
The raised topics related to the history of Pridnestrovian statehood and existing political realities in the course of the meeting.
They talked about infrastructure changing for the better. They mentioned the construction of a new building of the Military Institute of the PMR Ministry of Defense. Words of gratitude were expressed to Vadim Krasnoselsky for the creation of the Suvorov Military School. They talked about a growing network of sports grounds. A request to equip a gym on the territory of the educational institution (now students do physical education in a nearby sports complex or in a park area next door) was received from a student of the Grigoriopol school named after Stoev. A student from Pervomaisk on behalf of the entire village thanked for the construction of new buildings for the art school and the local temple. A student from Kamenka outlined the need to re-equip computer classes and classrooms for basic military training. There was a proposal to hold a gathering of young talents in the field of IT technologies. A young artist from Rybnitsa offered to donate her original works, illustrations to folk tales, to an orphanage.
The conversation lasted more than two hours. Some issues raised during the conversation will form the basis of presidential instructions. All participants in the discussion were presented with books about the history of Bendery and the Bendery fortress on behalf of the PMR President.
