A large group of European diplomats, led by OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis, has arrived in Pridnestrovie. The delegation consists of fifteen people, including OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Pridnestrovian Settlement Process Thomas Lenk, Acting Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Izabela Sylwia Hartmann, Swiss Ambassador to Moldova Felix Baumann, and others. The visitors were received by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky. The meeting took place in Bendery, in one of the halls of the Old Bastion State Cultural Center, located in Alexander Nevsky Park, next to the citadel of the Bendery Fortress. In addition to the PMR President Pridnestrovian side was represented by the Head of the Presidential Administration of the PMR Sergei Belous, Chairperson of the Supreme Council of the PMR Tatiana Zalevskaya, Deputy Chairmen of the PMR Government Vitaly Neagu and Sergei Obolonik, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev, and his deputy Alexander Stetsyuk.
Some members of the foreign delegation have met with the Pridnestrovian leadership on numerous occasions, but for Ignazio Cassis and Feridun Sinirlioglu, this is the first official visit to Pridnestrovie. Interesting and significant facts about the biography of the head of the delegation: Ignazio Cassis is a qualified physician, who once practiced medicine and earned a doctorate in medicine. He served as President of Switzerland in 2022. Judging by his previous statements, he is a supporter of the quadrilingualism of Switzerland and the harmonious coexistence of languages and cultures.
