Vadim Krasnoselsky met with Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Sawa at the presidential executive office. Vladyka was accompanied by Father Sergius. The interlocutors discussed the events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Paisius Velichkovsky. The Synod of the Orthodox Church of Moldova officially declared 2022 the year of the reverend's commemoration. The Diocesan Council of the Tiraspol-Dubossary diocese decided in March of this year to paint an icon of St. Paisius in which part of his relics was placed. Vladyka said that the holy image will be in various parishes of the republic within two months – from June 13 to August 14.
The participants of the meeting discussed events dedicated to the memory of the Holy Princes Peter and Fevronia. This holiday celebrated in the secular calendar on July 8 is named as the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity. The interlocutors emphasized the importance of preserving Orthodox traditions, spoke about the interaction of the church, state and society, the purpose of which is to familiarize them with true spiritual values.
Attention was paid during the discussion to the improvement and development of church infrastructure. They talked about repair and construction work – required and already being carried out in various churches of the Pridnestrovian deaneries. They discussed progress in the construction of the Tiraspol "student" church of St. Tatiana and the Church of the Archangel Michael, which is being built at the request of local residents in the new park of the village of Pervomaisk.
