Pridnestrovians celebrated the Great Victory Day

The solemn events dedicated to the 77th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 were held in Pridnestrovie. The leadership and residents of the republic congratulate the veterans, remember the dead and fallen participants in the Great Patriotic War and the victims of fascism despite the difficult geopolitical situation in the world and the red alert of terrorist danger in the country. Songs of the Victory are heard in all thematically decorated for the main May holiday the settlements of the republic. Flowers enliven the stone slabs of memorial complexes. The venue for the main official celebrations on the occasion of Victory Day is traditionally the capital of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, the city of Tiraspol, awarded on the 7th of May, 1985 for courage and steadfastness shown during the Second World War, with the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree.

The soldiers of the Guard of Honor Company on the main city square, which bears the name of the great commander Suvorov raised the Banner of Victory - an exact copy of the assault flag of the 150th Order of Kutuzov II degree of the Idritsa Rifle Division, hoisted over the Reichstag on the 1st of May 1945 to the anthem of the USSR performed by the orchestra of the General Staff of the Ministry of Defense of the PMR. The canvas was solemnly handed over to the Pridnestrovian people in May 2014 and annually on the 9th of May into the sky over Tiraspol next to the Flag of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The solemn ceremony was watched by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky, heads of state and local authorities, representatives of veteran organizations, military personnel, clergy, and the public. The delegation upon its completion went to the Memorial of Glory to honor the memory of the fallen and deceased defenders of the Fatherland.
