Republic Day is celebrated today in all corners of Pridnestrovie. The main celebrations are held in the capital. Representatives of cities and regions, as well as guests of the republic, gathered here. Official events on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the PMR began at the Memorial of Glory with flower laying ceremony. It was opened by a moment of silence in memory of the deceased and dead defenders of Pridnestrovie. The PMR President and his wife, heads and representatives of government bodies of state administration, members of foreign delegations who arrived to celebrate the main public holiday of Pridnestrovie, clergy, military personnel, and the public bowed their heads to the sounds of the metronome.
The Presidential wreath, flowers in bulk were lowered to the Eternal Flame as a sign of gratitude for the preserved peace. Symbols of unfading memory today lie on stone slabs with the names of dead soldiers and officers, monuments to the Defender of Pridnestrovie, the Afghan Warrior, the Sorrowful Mother.
The participants of the celebrations walked along the main square of the capital to the Palace of Children and Youth Creativity, along which flagpoles were installed. The flags of the friendly republics of the birthday party - Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Nagorno-Karabakh (they were raised here for the first time on August 26, 2018), as well as the flags of the cities and districts of Pridnestrovie, fluttering over the square named after Suvorov since September 2 last year. The state flags of Pridnestrovie and Russia were raised to the sounds of the hymn of the PMR. One of the official attributes of Pridnestrovian statehood was first raised on the day of the first anniversary of the founding of the republic - September 2, 1991. The Russian tricolor is adjacent to the State flag of Pridnestrovie at official events in accordance with the law adopted by the Supreme Council in April 2017.
After the official ceremony of raising the State flags of Pridnestrovie and Russia, the leadership of the republic went to the tribune that were installed on the main square of the capital to greet the Tiraspol residents and guests of the city.
