The presidential inspection touched upon the Oktombrie stadium in Kamenka

The Oktombrie sports complex was built in 1985 as a training and competition base for the Kamenka Children's and Youth Sports School, which was established in 1965. The school which is attended by 486 students cultivates five sports today: athletics, volleyball, football, judo and checkers. Groups are open not only in the city, but also in five villages of the district. The training process is carried out by 24 employees. The infrastructure of the sports school was updated from various sources, including under the capital investment program. The building of the former boarding school was renovated using funds from the Fund for Capital Investments, placing a hotel for athletes in the building in 2019. The city guests are accommodated there if necessary. The facility was used as housing for refugees, as well as for temporary accommodation of people in difficult life situations.

Funds were allocated from the Capital Investment Fund to renew the running tracks of the Oktombrie stadium this year. The President watched the installation process today. The surface is rubber. Manufactured in the capital. The material is crumb obtained from recycling tires. Black was chosen for the stadium, although at the customer's request, manufacturers can color the crumb brighter. The surface is solid there. Cut slabs are often preferred for playgrounds. The new surface next week will be marked and ready for use in any weather. It was impossible to run on the old tracks after the rain, said the director of the sports school, Yuri Grekov.

The need to renew the stands was discussed with the President. They want to replace the plastic seats that have become unusable with metal ones – less susceptible to the destructive effects of temperature changes and overly active fans. The area at the entrance to the stadium will need to be improved. They haven't given up hope for a new gym either. The project is ready and waiting for its time.
