Vadim Krasnoselsky requested information on maintaining law and order and public safety during the holiday period in the course of video conference held by the President with heads of state authorities and government agencies. 111 militia officers were on duty on New Year's Eve, according to Minister of Internal Affairs Vitaly Neagu. Forty-three citizens were taken to local militia stations. About a hundred militia officers maintained law and order on Christmas Eve. They were on duty, including near 59 churches where Christmas services were being held.

Ministry of Internal Affairs personnel, including the Main Directorate for Emergency Situations, were placed on high alert due to deteriorating weather conditions on January 8. Eighty-six pieces of specialized equipment were deployed to deal with the aftermath of the cyclone that hit the republic. 174 road and utility service persons worked working during the holidays. 928 tons of sand and salt mixture were used to ensure the safety of vehicles and citizens. Nine traffic accidents and four weather-related street injuries were recorded during these days. Rescuers were called out five times. Traffic was closed on the Tiraspol-Kamenka highway near the village of Tashlyk and on the bypass road in Grigoriopol on January 8, while heavy-duty truck traffic was restricted near the villages of Goyany and Dzerzhinskoye.

Specialists from the Main Emergency Management Department responded 113 times (compared to 384 rescue calls during the same period last year) in 11 days of the new year. Thirty-four fires and blazes were recorded, resulting in five fatalities. Smoking while intoxicated is a common cause. The President ordered the intensification of preventive measures, including informing the public about the dangerous consequences. Thematic public service announcements will be produced.
