A commission visited the Central Republican Hospital in Rybnitsa last week. Following extensive renovations, the facility is ready for operation. The deadlines had been repeatedly delayed due to the involvement of an unscrupulous contractor, its replacement, forced downtime, and alterations. According to the commission's conclusion, the surgical and purulent surgery departments, as well as the operating rooms, are now ready to receive patients. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized a more serious approach to selecting contractors. It is important when conducting tenders to consider not only the bidders' stated capabilities but also their performance history and reputation.
The commission visited the Polyclinic of Slobodzeya today. Renovations are proceeding there as planned. Interior work is scheduled for completion in August. However, the program did not include renovations to the building's facade or landscaping. Vitaly Neagu petitioned to secure funds for these finishing touches. This isn't a large investment, as the facade work is purely cosmetic, and paving the area won't require costly preparatory work – the tiles will be laid over worn asphalt, which is suitable for use as a base.
The infrastructure of the Republican Clinical Hospital is being updated. Construction of a food service facility is underway. Renovations to the cardiology department will be completed this year. Roofing work has begun at the blood transfusion center. The infectious diseases department is almost complete. Patients temporarily transferred to the hospital of Slobodzeya will soon return to the renovated building. Speaking about the importance of modernizing the medical infrastructure, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that the goal is to create comfortable conditions for both patients (approximately two thousand people are treated daily in hospitals across the republic) and healthcare workers, of whom there are approximately eight thousand in Pridnestrovie. Another socially significant facility that has been participating in the Fund for Capital Investments program for several years is the state university. Vitaly Neagu told the President that the Faculty of Economics building is being renovated. The goal is to complete the work by the start of the academic year.
The PMR Government Deputy Chairman reported to the President on the implementation of the presidential instruction to ensure additional fire safety measures during the harvest season. A meeting of the State Emergency Commission was held with the participation of the heads of state administrations TODAY. Specific forms of cooperation between farmers, local authorities, and rescuers were discussed. The particular importance of mutual assistance between land users was emphasized.
Vitaly Neagu informed the President that the commission decided to delegate authority to introduce a special fire safety regime to the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the PMR for greater efficiency and effectiveness. It was noted that there are currently no preconditions for its introduction, but the situation could change at any time.
Floods are no less dangerous than fires. Experience from 2008 shows that water levels can rise sharply even after prolonged low water levels. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that the state annually allocates funds to strengthen dams. He instructed that their condition be constantly inspected, their height monitored, and their relationship with the water level monitored to prevent overflows.
The PMR President recommended that the Main Directorate for Emergency Situations pay close attention to the condition of green spaces. Old and damaged trees pose a danger. It must be promptly identified and removed, preventing dangerous falls, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized.
