The President congratulated the staff of the PMR State Customs Committee on the anniversary of the department

The State Customs Committee of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the department. Solemn meeting was held on this occasion on the eve of the holiday date. The event was held in the great hall of the Palace of the Republic. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky took part in it.

The Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic spoke about the fulfillment of the multi-vector tasks assigned to the customs authorities. Valentin Grabko focused on the introduction of advanced technologies, creating comfortable conditions for doing business and attracting investments to the country. These principles of the activities of the customs authorities are aimed at protecting economic security, the Head of the PMR State Customs Committee emphasized. An important aspect is the shift in focus from control and fiscal functions to advisory ones. This is facilitated by the improvement of the PMR Customs Code, the updated version of which was adopted in 2018. Valentin Grabko announced the latest figures, emphasizing that the budget revenues have been stable for five years: the customs authorities provide half of the state's revenues, about 2.5 million rubles go to the state treasury through the State Customs Committee every day.

Customs payments replenished the country's budget by 540 million rubles during eight months of 2022. The total trade turnover is 37% higher than the same period last year despite the complicated geopolitical circumstances. The speaker focused on the implementation of the "Electronic Customs" project. There was transition to electronic declaration of exported goods in 2019-2020. Imports were included in 2021 in the system. 2022 was the year of the introduction of automatic registration of declarations. 68% of imports are registered within one minute without the participation of a customs inspector, 97% are processed using automation, and 84% of export declarations are issued. The plans include the centralization of all bases and systems of the State Customs Committee, the introduction of technologies for automatic (without the participation of customs officials) decision-making on the release of goods.

The PMR State Customs Committee Chairman emphasized that one of the priorities of the Committee's activity is the control of the legality of movement of goods and objects across the border. More than seven hundred violations of customs legislation were detected during eight months. More than two million rubles were collected in the form of fines, and about 500 thousand rubles were collected as customs payments based on the results of consideration of administrative cases. Narcotic drugs and tobacco products as part of criminal cases were confiscated.

The Head of the department considers that the customs service has the resources to further increase the transparency of administration, simplify customs procedures, build up an open and effective dialogue with the business and civil society. Valentin Grabko thanked the veterans and current employees of the customs authorities for their service. The Head of the department compared the customs authorities with a good football referee, whose presence on the field should be noticeably minimal, but whose role cannot be belittled and underestimated.

The PMR President congratulated the representatives of the State Customs Committee of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic on the departmental anniversary. Vadim Krasnoselsky focused on the fact that the formation of the Pridnestrovian customs began a few months after the end of hostilities to protect Pridnestrovie practically from scratch. Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed gratitude to the founders and veterans of the State Customs Committee of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Speaking about the deeper roots of the customs service in the Pridnestrovian land, the PMR President noted that the first mention of the Bendery customs crossing dates back to 1408.

The President focused on the paramount importance of the personnel component of any department.

Focusing the staff of the Pridnestrovian customs on further effective activities, the President recalled an important principle: formalism in any area of public and state-civil relations is destructive and counterproductive.

The President awarded state awards to a number of employees of various departments of the State Customs Committee of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic on the occasion of the anniversary. Vadim Krasnoselsky was awarded the jubilee medal "30 years of the customs authorities of the PMR".

The solemn event continued with a concert program.
