The Pridnestrovian delegation led by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky arrived in the Russian capital. The first meeting as part of a working visit was held at the Reception House of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Vadim Krasnoselsky discussed relevant for Pridnestrovie issues with Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie Vitaly Ignatiev, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Gubarev, Director of the Second Department of the CIS Countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexey Polishchuk and his deputy Vitaly Tryapitsyn.
Welcoming the diplomats, Vadim Krasnoselsky thanked the Russian side for the systematic support of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in many areas and praised the efforts of the Russian Federation as a guarantor country in the Moldovan- Pridnestrovian negotiation process.
In the course of the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on the current situation in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova and expressed mutual concern about the decrease in the dynamics and, as a result, the effectiveness of the negotiations. According to the PMR President, the deterioration of the situation is due to the fact that Chisinau refuses to fulfill its obligations and takes pressure on the PMR.
The Pridnestrovian side informed its Russian colleagues about the recent attempt of RM to restrict the movement of vehicles from Pridnestrovie, as well as the fact that Chisinau continues to block the possibility of using accounts in Moldovan banks for a number of Pridnestrovian enterprises. All these actions, according to Vadim Krasnoselsky, clearly demonstrate Moldova’s unwillingness to conduct a dialogue in an adequate and constructive way.
The meeting participants exchanged views on the prospects for the negotiation process in 2020. They talked about the need for the practical implementation of previously reached agreements and the resolution of acute problematic aspects in relations between Moldova and Pridnestrovie.
As part of the communication, Vadim Krasnoselsky and Andrei Rudenko discussed in detail the existing opportunities for the development of bilateral cooperation between Russia and Pridnestrovie. Issues related to simplifying the procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship for the residents of Pridnestrovie and the intensification of Russian- Pridnestrovian interagency cooperation were raised.
