The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky met in the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia with member of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building Alexey Pushkov. The PMR Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev took part in the conversation.
Vadim Krasnoselsky noted in his welcoming speech the intensive and fruitful nature of the contacts with the Federation Council and highly appreciated their importance in the context of the development of Pridnestrovian-Russian relations.
The parties substantively discussed the foreign policy situation developing around Pridnestrovie with an emphasis on the current challenges and threats faced by the PMR. Special attention was paid to the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian negotiation process. The PMR President called the current state of the dialogue with the Republic of Moldova unsatisfactory, stressing the pathological unwillingness of Moldova to adhere to its obligations within the framework of the agreements reached. Vadim Krasnoselsky pointed to a sharp aggravation of issues related to limiting the participation of Pridnestrovian vehicles in international road traffic, outlining a whole range of negative consequences from the implementation of the ban on their entry into Ukraine from the 1st of September.
Vadim Krasnoselsky and Alexey Pushkov focused on the prospects for deepening cooperation between Pridnestrovie and Russia, including in the trade, economic, social and humanitarian spheres. Actual steps aimed at improving the situation of Russian citizens and compatriots in Pridnestrovie were considered.
The parties agreed to maintain high dynamics of interaction across the entire spectrum of topical issues.
