Organization of the movement of electric transport along Yunosti street in the capital – is the request of Tiraspol residents. Residents of this part of the town have long asked to extend the line till "The Thirtieth" shopping center. Their request was heard. This socially significant project has been implemented on behalf of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky. The President took part today in the solemn ceremony of launching a trolleybus along a new, more precisely, updated and lengthened line. This is route number 2. It was opened in its original form back in 1968, but it was not the first. The trolleybus traffic in Tiraspol was organized a year earlier, in 1967, when 15 electric vehicles were launched onto city roads. The route of the route number 2 has been extended more than once - as the development of building of the city. First, from the republic clinical hospital to the Yunost cinema, then from the Frunze state farm-technical school to the Zapadny microdistrict, later to the Ternopil shopping center. The project for the next section of the growing line was developed back in 1993, but until recently remained only on paper. The facility was included in the capital investment fund program in 2019. They laid new contact networks, installed poles. The street was expanded in 2020, so-called bus bays were equipped. Today trolleybuses number 2 made their first renewed trip. Their movement was launched by the President, the Head of the capital's administration and young residents of the Oktyabrsky microdistrict. Having cut the symbolic red ribbon, they became the first passengers of the route number 2 to follow the new route.
Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated the audience on the upcoming anniversary of the republic, noting that the commissioning of new facilities on the occasion of state name days had become a good tradition, addressing the residents of the microdistrict. The President said that the opening of the trolleybus line is one of the specific steps to implement the PMR Development Strategy, which states that Pridnestrovie is a socially oriented state with a market economy, that is, every ruble earned is directed to the needs of people. Speaking about the social significance of the implemented project, the President noted that it is especially important for pensioners and representatives of other privileged categories of citizens, emphasizing that pensioners use the services of public electric transport at the expense of the state in Pridnestrovie.
The President called the opening of a new section of the trolleybus line a small, but important chapter in the history of the city and the country. Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed gratitude to everyone who took part in the implementation of the project, and addressed words of special gratitude to the head of the city administration Oleg Dovgopol. A number of employees of the Tiraspol trolleybus department were presented with certificates and letters of thanks from the PMR President.
