Vadim Krasnoselsky, the PMR President:
The fact that today's meeting took place is already a result, taking into consideration the difficult situation. I saw the desire of the Polish Chairmanship, despite the external situation, to contribute to the continuation of the dialogue between Moldova and Pridnestrovie. The Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs said that gathering participants is practically impossible today in the “5 + 2” format. Nevertheless, the dialogue cannot be stopped even under these conditions and the OSCE is ready to be a mediator.
I outlined two fundamental conditions for the continuation of a normal dialogue. The first is the implementation by all parties of the agreements reached, all participants in the “5 + 2” format must guarantee the implementation of previously signed agreements. The second is that neither side exerts pressure either politically, economically or humanitarianly. If these forms of pressure continue, and previously signed agreements are not implemented, then all other agreements or meetings will be exclusively ritual. We must strive for results.
By and large, our goal is to make people's lives better. This is why agreements are signed. They must not only be fulfilled, but put into practice so that they become the norm for people, so that they make life easier for people on the right and left sides of the Dniester.
I saw the attitude of the Polish Chairmanship to continue the dialogue and the desire to resolve certain issues that exist between Pridnestrovie and Moldova.
