It was noted in the course of the gala evening that the main task of the organization was the countermeasure to Moldovan nationalism, which was gaining strength in the late 80s of the last century. Members of the Joint Council of Labor Collectives carried out explanatory work among workers, organized mass strikes. It was they who initiated referendums at which citizens spoke out for creation of Pridnestrovian state. Members of Joint Council of Labor Collectives took an active part in the formation of institutions and systems of state authorities of the young republic. Many of them stood up for the PMR in 1992. Participants of the solemn event honored the memory of the fallen members of the Joint Council of Labor Collectives with a minute of silence.

The First President of the PMR congratulated the Joint Council of Labor Collectives members on the holiday. According to him, the goal of the organization always united people of different nationalities living in Pridnestrovie, and not to separate them.
Addressing the members and veterans of the Joint Council of Labor Collectives, the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled in what historical circumstances the Council of labor collectives was formed - the period of the collapse of the Soviet Union. He expressed confidence that the true reason for the collapse of the country is in the betrayal by the political elite of the USSR. The wave of armed conflicts, the PMR President recalled, swept almost all the Union republics.
