About Pridnestrovie yesterday, today, tomorrow: the conversation of the President with the defenders

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky discussed with the leaders of public organizations and associations of defenders of Pridnestrovie the aspects of the current socio-economic situation in the republic, answered the urgent questions of the meeting participants on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the armed aggression of the Republic of Moldova against Pridnestrovie - the Bendery tragedy.

Heads of authorities, ministries and departments were invited to a broad dialogue: Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, Chairman of the Government Alexander Rozenberg, ministers of foreign affairs, defense, internal affairs, state security, health, social protection.

Vadim Krasnoselsky opening the meeting at the request of the public, gave a general description of the situation developing in Pridnestrovie and around it, listened carefully to the questions and answered them in detail. Most of the appeals were related to social, medical and financial support both directly to the participants in the hostilities, the PMR defenders, and their wives, widows and children.

The President emphasized that the state, as before, supported the defenders of the republic in every possible way, and henceforth, despite the difficult situation in the economy, it will do everything possible to provide them with everything necessary. The parties discussed the issues of documenting the status of members of organizations, providing those in need with social housing, material support for the families of the deceased defenders of Pridnestrovie.

As Elena Kulichenko informed, the state annually pledges funds for the provision of one-time material assistance for memorable dates. It was decided to form aid in monetary terms. This year it is 700 rubles, which will be paid in two tranches. The first 200 rubles have already been paid. Another 500 rubles will be sent before the end of June. Moreover, the problem of supplementing the recipients of assistance with the category of widows of deceased combatants without linking death to combat events has been worked out. This is an additional 1116 people. This provision is currently being negotiated by the Ministry of Justice. They will also be paid 700 rubles each.

One of the topics, the public suggested discussing the maintenance of water metering devices, for the verification of which it is necessary to pay a considerable amount. Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that a mechanism is being worked out together with the government to buy meters and include a share in the tariff for maintenance, similar to electricity meters and gas meters.

Speaking about strengthening the provision of medical services, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that the state pays special attention to this. Thus, the volume of financing for the provision of emergency care abroad has increased from 3 million rubles last year to 33 million this year.

Summing up the dialogue, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that the situation in the republic is not easy, but even under these conditions, compromises must be found, solutions to problems must be found, and most importantly, to preserve Pridnestrovie, its people, and fulfill social obligations. The President is sure that it is important to remember history, roots, to honor the ancestors of all historical eras.

Addressing the defenders, he urged not to get lost, but as direct participants, as threads connecting the epochs, to tell young people about the Pridnestrovian history, about the conflict. “Young people, I assure you, are waiting for this, they want it, they are interested, and they need to be given it, especially in modern conditions,” the PMR President summed up.
