Anyone who at least once visited the Borisov cemetery in the city of Bendery could not take no notice of the Alley of Heroes. It is located right at the entrance so that everyone who enters can honor the memory of the defenders of Pridnestrovie. The centralized burial place of the defenders who died from the weapons of the Moldovan nationalists who invaded the peaceful Pridnestrovian land was reconstructed on behalf of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky in 2019. Then they put in order a part of the cemetery, where the participants in the hostilities who died in peacetime are buried. Headstones have been replaced. The area was cleaned.
Commemorative events are held on the Alley of Heroes every year on June 19. The meeting-requiem was also held today, on the 30th anniversary of the Bendery tragedy. The PMR President addressed the participants. Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the tragedy of the events of the early 90s of the last century, stating with regret that even today in the neighboring state there is no awareness of the crime committed against the peaceful Pridnestrovian people, just as there is no condemnation from European states.
The PMR President expressed condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of the fallen defenders of Pridnestrovie, wished health and well-being to those living today.
Archbishop Sawa of Tiraspol and Dubossary held a memorial litia.
The defenders of Bendery were remembered by name. This is a tradition. As well as the laying of flowers not only to the monument built in honor of all those who stood up for peace and the bright future of the city and country, but also to each tombstone, regardless of whether the name of the hero is on it or it is unknown. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky bowed to each defender, forever buried in the Bendery land, for which the most valuable thing was given – life. A good tradition of this mournful day is the personal communication of the PMR President with the families of the fallen heroes.
