The President's working day began with a report from the Minister of Internal Affairs. Vitaly Neagu heads the operational headquarters to combat the consequences of bad weather. He said that the warning from meteorologists about the expected snowstorm on the 26th of November was timely: the information was received at noon on the 24th of November. Not only the relevant services, but also the population was promptly notified of the impending disaster. The consequences of heavy snowfall and wind, gusts of which reached 25 meters per second, resulted in numerous emergency situations associated with disruption of transport communications and accidents at public infrastructure facilities. 246 cars containing 617 people were evacuated during the day. 28434 subscribers experienced a lack of electricity due to line breaks. 8572 have no electricity now.
481 employees of public utilities and 231 rescuers took part in the consequences of snowfall and wind eliminating; 281 units of equipment from public utilities and 30 from the Emergency Situations Department were involved. Most continue to work. Emergency management specialists carried out 77 calls. 15 road accidents and 31 cases of street injuries were registered. 1387 tons of sand-salt mixture were consumed. The effectiveness of the sand-salt mixture road surface was reduced due to the fact that gusts of wind blew away the mixture.
The roads in the steppe zone of Slobodzeya district (the villages of Vladimirovka, Priozernoye, Novokotovsk, Andriyashevka and the Dnestrovsk-Pervomaisk highway) are in unsatisfactory condition at the moment. Sections of the roadway leading to the villages of Voronkovo and Lenino in Rybnitsa district, Novokomisarovka and Krasny Vinogradar in Dubossary district, Butor, Malaeshty, Speya, Bychok (clover bridge area) in Grigoriopol district, as well as the entrance to the village of Giska require clearing.
Road, utility and law enforcement services have been transferred to an enhanced operating mode. Units of the Ministry of Defense have been involved in eliminating the consequences of the current emergency situation. The President drew attention to the need to organize heating and temporary stay centers in all cities of the republic for citizens who find themselves in a difficult situation.
