The "Dragon" class boat competitions, initiated by Vadim Krasnoselsky, have been held in Pridnestrovie since 2022. The decision to develop this program was made due to its democratic nature and the potential for widespread participation by citizens of all ages and athletic levels. A dozen competitions have been held in Tiraspol, Bendery, and Rybnitsa, attracting a total of approximately 5000 people over the past five years. Six "Dragon" regattas are planned for the current year. Ten of these boats have been used in training and racing so far. The Pridnestrovian "dragon" family has been expanded with four small ten-seater competition boats today. The new boats were personally presented by the PMR President. Vadim Krasnoselsky presented certificates during the opening ceremony of the Victory Cup championship, held by the Olympic Reserve School. The sports equipment was donated to this educational institution, which will help boost the development of this sport not only at the amateur but also professional level.
Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized the importance of physical education and sports, speaking about how joint training and competitions bring young people together. The President emphasized that today's regatta is dedicated to the anniversary of the Soviet people's victory in the Great Patriotic War, meaning that each participant is making a contribution to preserving history by showing respect for the heroic past of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers.
The Victory Cup regatta is taking place at the rowing center (the site of the Olympic Reserve School for Rowing and Shooting) in the capital. Teams from the Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense of the PMR, the Tiraspol Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the PMR, the Pridnestrovian State University named after Taras Shevchenko, the Olympic Reserve School, the Republican Cadet Corps, and the Suvorov Military School, as well as the Rybnitsa team, are participating. Vadim Krasnoselsky, a veteran rower, "tested the waters" before the youth race. The President wished the young sportsmen good emotions and victories.
