The Road Fund characteristics adjustments were discussed in the course of the meeting under the President

Vadim Krasnoselsky held a meeting with the participation of the Head of the Administration of the PMR President, the PMR Government Chairman, ministers of the economic block and heads of state administrations. The issues related to the life of towns and districts of the republic were discussed. They focused on the municipal and republican budgets. A large block of the working discussion was devoted to the Road Fund. The government proposes to sequester it. Such a need has arisen due to special economic conditions caused by negative external factors. An initiative was proposed for consideration by the Supreme Council, which implies a change in the main characteristics of the PMR Road Fund among other things. They were voiced by Sergei Obolonik. The budget law specifies the amount of expenses for Pridnestrovian roads – 285 million at the moment. It is proposed to reduce it mainly by refusing in the current period from capital works on sections in state ownership, and reducing by an average of 35% (using a single reduction coefficient) the costs of capital repairs of both republican and municipal roads. tHe total amount of costs is reduced to 204 million rubles, taking into consideration accounts payable and existing balances. Each district retains the amounts of tax collected from vehicle owners.

The meeting participants spoke about the areas and sections of roads that require immediate attention. The road industry enterprises activities were discussed. The primary task is to fulfill obligations to labor collectives, the interlocutors said. They focused on the topic of the efficiency of using budget funds. The President recalled that he had repeatedly pointed out the advisability of switching from asphalt paving to concreting and laying paving slabs. These two areas should cover at least half of all road works in the republic, Vadim Krasnoselsky considers. Examples of concrete pavement on one of the capital's streets and a tiled road surface along Tkachenko Street in Bendery confirmed the effectiveness of this practice. It is important that both of these options allow the use of local materials, capitalization of the Pridnestrovian ruble, and reduction of dependence on external factors, the PMR President emphasized.
