The Meeting in the "3 + 2" format is over

The meeting of the PMR President with international delegation of mediators and observers of the negotiation process is over. It was organized in expanded format. Two dozen foreign diplomats arrived in Tiraspol to participate. This time, the receiving party was represented not only by the President, the leadership of the Parliament and the foreign affairs agency of the republic, but also by the Heads of the largest public organizations of Pridnestrovie.

They discussed in detail all the problematic aspects that have accumulated during the stagnation of the negotiations. The picture as a whole was outlined by the PMR President.

Commenting on the statements regarding the so-called integrity of Moldova, the PMR President recalled the existence of documents that nullify any argumentation on this score. We are talking about the Declaration of Independence of Moldova and the decision of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova, by which the neighboring state legally renounced Pridnestrovie.

Speaking about the prospects and expediency of continuing the dialogue, Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled that Pridnestrovie insisted on preserving and continues to defend the existing negotiation format "5 + 2".

The Heads of the PMR public organizations actively joined the conversation in the second part of the meeting. Representatives of 72 nationalities live in Pridnestrovie, and the internal policy is such that it does not allow and does not assume the possibility of interethnic conflict. The format of today's meeting speaks of the intrastate unity and democracy of Pridnestrovie. “My position remains unchanged. I am not going to decide the fate of Pridnestrovie in a dark room. The fate of Pridnestrovie will be decided by the people. And this postulate does not in any way run counter to the standards of the UN and other international organizations. The meeting is attended by representatives of the people. You have a unique opportunity to communicate with them”, said Vadim Krasnoselsky, representing the leaders of ethnic communities and other public organizations.

The participants in the meeting talked about specific problems that need to be resolved as soon as possible. Social activists gave examples of the negative impact of unsettled Moldovan-Pridnestrovian relations and Moldova's failure to fulfill its obligations. They talked about the violation of the rights of citizens of the PMR in various areas. In this regard, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that the practice of ignoring the agreements reached and the obligations assumed makes the partnership a frivolous character, which is unacceptable.

Concluding the three-hour discussion, the interlocutors expressed their hope for the continuation of the dialogue. The question of organizing a meeting of participants in the "5 + 2" format in Stockholm in September this year remains open.
