The PMR President met with the US Ambassador

Since the last visit to Pridnestrovie of the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Moldova, no progress has been made in the negotiation process. That can not be said about the political situation in Moldova, where the Government has recently changed again, Vadim Krasnoselsky and Dereck Hogan noted during a working dialogue today.

The United States of America is participating as an observer in the 5 + 2 negotiation process. It is important for Pridnestrovie to know the opinion of US representatives on the negotiation agenda and to bring their position to their attention, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized. He noted that the slowdown in negotiation activity continues, citing data confirming this fact: in 2018, political representatives of the parties met 23 times, in 2019 only twice, expert (working) groups met 85 times last year, and this year 20. At the same time, the PMR President emphasized the practical importance of the activities of experts and political representatives, which precedes decision-making. Linking the pause in the negotiations and the incompleteness of discussions in Bavaria and Bratislava with the electoral waves in Moldova, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that Pridnestrovie is striving for stability and continued dialogue.

The American diplomat indicated a desire to give a new impetus to the negotiation process.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the entire spectrum of the negotiation agenda. They talked about bilateral cooperation between countries in various areas, including cultural and humanitarian ones. The meeting participants agreed to continue active interaction.
