International topic number 1 today is the pandemic, the situation with the spread of coronavirus in the world and in individual states, as well as the effectiveness of measures taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This issue was also included in the agenda of the meeting between Vadim Krasnoselsky and Igor Dodon. The dialogue between the leaders began from his discussion during the walk. The PMR President said that coronavirus hospitals were initially deployed throughout the republic. Now, only two of them function based on the necessity: Slobodzeya serves the settlements in the south and central part of Pridnestrovie, Rybnitsa - the north of the country. Vadim Krasnoselsky shared the experience of Pridnestrovie in the temporary re-profiling of production enterprises, which undertook to provide the republic with personal protective equipment and disinfectants. The PMR President spoke about the numerous volunteers who took part in the fight against COVID-19.
Later, within the framework of an extended discussion with the participation of the delegations members, it was a question of the functioning of quarantine posts set up by Pridnestrovie to control the movement of citizens. Their presence is due to the need to prevent the import of infection and the fact that the COVID situation has been stabilized on the territory of Pridnestrovie, and the coronavirus is successfully kept from active spread, while Moldova is still among the countries of the "red zone". Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled that 11 out of the 31 initially established quarantine posts, are functioning today. Their number will continue to decline as the coronavirus situation improves. It is too early to talk about the complete cessation of the practice, which has proven its effectiveness. The fact that the installation of controlled quarantine transitions is temporary and socially significant measure is confirmed by the rotation of personnel: today, officers of the internal affairs bodies are serving there, on whose forearm a red bandage with the informative inscription “Ministry of Internal Affairs. Quarantine”, noted the PMR President. He drew attention to the fact that the republic took this measure in order to ensure the safety of the population, stressing that Pridnestrovie on its territory is independently struggling with the disease that has swept the whole world. The most important task is to prevent the dominance of the virus, the massive spread of which can undermine even the most reliable healthcare system. Pridnestrovie successfully copes with this task, including thanks to the timely closure of borders and prevention of the import of COVID-19 from abroad along the entire perimeter of the republic. Speculations on this topic - absolutely humanitarian without a hint of politics - are unacceptable, Vadim Krasnoselsky considers. It was noted that the bilateral dialogue at the highest level, which is dedicated to this topic, is fruitful.
