Vadim Krasnoselsky met with Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky met with the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev on the site of the upper chamber of the Russian Parliament. The President was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev.

Welcoming the interlocutor, Vadim Krasnoselsky thanked the leadership of the Federation Council for systematic attention to the situation in Pridnestrovie and around, as well as to the problems and needs of Russian compatriots in the PMR. Detailed conversation took place on a wide range of issues related to the intensification of cooperation between Pridnestrovie and the Russian Federation, including bilateral trade and economic ties and inter-parliamentary contacts. Special attention was paid to the social and humanitarian agenda.

Vadim Krasnoselsky and Konstantin Kosachev discussed current trends in the dialogue between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. Mutual concern was expressed about the current state of the negotiation process in connection with the lack of progress in the implementation of the package of agreements "Berlin +" and the initiation of the Republic of Moldova new blockade measures against the PMR, in particular in the transport sector. The interlocutors are in solidarity in the opinion that it is necessary to fully use the potential of the existing negotiation platforms for the earliest possible resolution of the entire complex of accumulated problems in the interests of people.

The topic of the Duma elections was discussed. The Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council noted the high level of organization of voting on the territory of Pridnestrovie. According to Konstantin Kosachev, residents of the republic have shown high activity.

They also spoke in the course of the meeting about the situation in the sphere of regional security. The positive role of the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester and the lack of alternatives to the existing format of the mission until the moment of the final settlement of relations between the PMR and the Republic of Moldova were emphasized.

The parties agreed at the end of the meeting to continue regular working dialogue.
