Vadim Krasnoselsky met with the head of the capital's state administration to discuss progress in the construction of a new solid waste landfill

The construction of a new solid waste landfill is one of the tasks set by the President for the current year. Insufficient volume of old site for the city landfill made it unsafe to use. The issue needed solution for a long time. After numerous consultations and meetings, they settled on the option of using exhausted quarries located one and a half kilometers from the inactive landfill in Malaeshty. Work began in July. The head of Tiraspol state administration Oleg Dovgopol reported today to the President on the interim results. It was noted in the course of on-site meeting that 10-15 items of machinery are involved in work every day. This is a serious project for the city. It requires serious costs of finances, time expenditure, labor and technical resources. Implementation involves a multi-stage process. The first stage is to be put into operation by the end of the year. It is important to prepare not only the waste storage bowls itself, but the infrastructure as well. Access roads and turning areas will be covered with large slabs. 96 units have already been ordered.

The current volume of garbage removed from the capital is 1200-1500 cubic meters per day. The capabilities of the new test site will last for 4-5 years with such circumstances. The service life will be reduced, provided that solid waste from Bendery is transported here. Oleg Dovgopol said that presses, waste processing lines and furnaces is intended to increase the period of use of the prepared territories.

The President gave a number of recommendations and instructions, recalling that delaying the construction of a new solid waste landfill is unacceptable.
