Yuri Nilov was posthumously recognized as the winner of the Person of the Year 2020 contest. He died at the end of last year, during which Yuri Nilov saved the lives of his compatriots, making every effort to stop the spread of coronavirus. He was not a doctor or an employee of the sanitary and epidemiological service, but was at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19. The Hi-Tech company headed by him in the summer of 2020 was awarded the medal “For saving life” for special contribution in this direction by presidential decree. Personal recognition of the merits of Yuri Nilov was the unconditional victory in the Person of the Year competition. The winner's diploma was presented to the hero's widow Natalya Nilova by the PMR President. The meeting took place at the Administration of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. It was decided not to hold the festive ceremony of awarding all laureates this year due to the continuing risks associated with the spread of coronavirus.

Vadim Krasnoselsky, welcoming the guest, called a great tragedy and irreparable loss such an early departure of Yuri Evgenievich from the life.
