Vadim Krasnoselsky met with the Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Sawa

During the working meeting of the President with the Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Sawa, the interlocutors spoke about the situation in the world and the country that has developed on the eve of major Orthodox holidays. The coronavirus pandemic has affected all segments of the population, making serious adjustments to the usual way of life. Forced restrictions are applied to temples. The priests of Pridnestrovian parishes strictly comply with the recommendations of the Operational Headquarters on preventing the spread of the virus and the instructions sent by the Moscow Patriarchate, Vladyka emphasized. We are talking about the systematic sanitization of premises, conducting (if possible) outdoor services in compliance with the quarantine distance between parishioners, using disposable cutlery in the sacrament, and minimizing contact with church utensils. According to the Archbishop, parishioners understand the restrictions. The number of service participants has become noticeably smaller. With those who have questions and misunderstandings, clergy and the head of the Tiraspol-Dubossary diocese personally conduct explanatory conversations.

Vadim Krasnoselsky and Archbishop Sawa discussed the mechanism for holding holiday services under global quarantine. They will not refuse parishioners to visit churches on the days of the upcoming greatest holidays - the Annunciation, Palm Sunday and Easter. Tents will be provided by the Operational Headquarters for celebrations in the courtyards of temples.
