The activity of this structure from the beginning of 2012 was discontinued, but the republic’s need for representation remained. Confirmation of this - numerous appeals of citizens of Pridnestrovie who are in Russia. To date, considerable preparatory work has been carried out for the start of activities of the Official Representative Office of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic that is under jurisdiction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky in his speech told about the opening of the Pridnestrovian Representative Office in Moscow as a significant event, fully corresponding to the position of Pridnestrovians, expressed during the 2006 general referendum. He drew attention to the fact that the need for representation became imminent long ago and noted that the resumption of its work is provided for by the Development Strategy of the PMR for 2019-2026. The center will become a practical tool for implementing individual provisions of the program document, in the text of which the international positioning of Pridnestrovie is directly dependent on the nature and level of development of foreign policy contacts. Another important aspect reflected in the Strategy 2019-2026 is the creation of a systemic mechanism for working with compatriots living abroad (the PMR Representative Office in Moscow is intended to become its significant element). Referring to the text of the Strategy, Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled that it formulated the state idea of Pridnestrovie, which is based on three aspects - striving for independence of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic with subsequent recognition and implementation of the referendum results, strengthening the Pridnestrovian people community and building a socially oriented state with a market economy . The President spoke about the historical ties linking Russia and Pridnestrovie, as well as about the directions of Pridnestrovian -Russian interaction. These are peacemaking, politics (Russia is a guarantor in the negotiation process), cultural, educational, humanitarian cooperation, and economics (according to Vadim Krasnoselsky, the Russian Federation is a strategic partner of Pridnestrovie). The Head of the Pridnestrovian state stopped at the information component of the interaction. The PMR President noted the good awareness of Pridnestrovians about the life of Russia and the lack of awareness of Russians about Pridnestrovian realities. In this regard, the representative office is assigned a special role by the President. Vadim Krasnoselsky called it a contact center - not only with the Russians, but also with representatives of other friendly states.
