Vadim Krasnoselsky took part in the meeting, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Pridnestrovian region from German occupation

It is crowded at the Kitskansky bridgehead today. The Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic marks the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the territory from Nazi invaders.

It was said during the rally, designed in the form of a large-scale theatrical performance that over four dozen war years, the Red Army command had formed more than four dozen fronts, conducted more than 250 military operations. The liberation of Pridnestrovian region is the merit of the participants in the Uman-Botoshansk, Odessa and Iasi-Kishinev offensive operations (forces of the 2nd and 3rd Ukrainian fronts). In March 1944, the fascist was expelled from the north - from Kamenka and Rybnitsa. By mid-April, Slobodzeya, Tiraspol, Grigoriopol, Dubossary were freed. The outstanding Iasi-Chisinau operation lasted from August 20 to 29. Its part was liberation of Bendery from fascist oppression. This event, which took place on August 23, 1944, put an end to the fascist presence on Pridnestrovian land.

In memory of all those who laid their heads on the fronts of World War II, a minute of silence was announced. White balloons appeared into the cloudless peaceful sky. Sign of immense gratitude - wreaths, baskets and a scattering of flowers at the foot of the Obelisk of Glory and on the graves of fallen soldiers and officers. are The PMR President, representatives of state authorities and administrations, the First President of the PMR, veterans, military personnel, clergy, social activists, and youth were among the participants in the meeting. The Russian guests arrived.

Addressing those present at the celebration and in their person all Pridnestrovians and everyone who honors the memory of the Great Patriotic War and the victory of the Soviet people, the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about past events and their attitude to them today, about historical parallels and the importance of keeping history in its original true form.

“Famous Iasi-Chisinau operation liberated not only the Moldavian SSR, Pridnestrovie, but also Romania, creating in fact a bridgehead for the liberation of all of southern Europe. The Iasi-Chisinau operation, indeed, was carried out brilliantly with minimal losses. During the Stalingrad offensive, the 6th Wehrmacht army of Nazi Germany was destroyed, but then it was recreated for new victories. It was finally destroyed here during the Iasi-Chisinau operation. The victory of Soviet weapons and the Soviet people took place. It is very painful and alarming when you hear information that many false historians are trying either to downplay the role of the Soviet people, the Soviet soldier, or to completely erase the feat of our people from memory. I want to recall that it was the Soviet soldier, the Soviet people, the Soviet Union that liberated Europe from Nazism and fascism. It is said that former war criminals repented, but this is some kind of later repentance that happened after May 9, 1945. Why didn’t they repent in the 1942, 1943, 1944? It would be a remorse that would stop the death and tragedy of our people. May 9, 1945 is a later, forced repentance under the pressure of a victorious offensive operation.

We keep the memory of the soldiers of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and, of course, the defenders of Pridnestrovie and peacekeepers of the Russian Federation. For me personally, as well as for the whole Pridnestrovian people, the 1944 liberator warrior is on a par with the defender of Pridnestrovie and the peacekeeper of the Russian Federation. In 1992, they stopped hostilities and forced those who invaded the land of Pridnestrovie to bring peace and destruction to peace. I am convinced that in 1944, when the Soviet soldiers liberated this bridgehead, everyone thought this was the last time. But, unfortunately, there was 1992, a tragic year, when bombs exploded on the same bridgehead. We must do everything in our power so that this never happens again, that the military history ceases, and there is a history of creation, peace, kindness and love”, said Vadim Krasnoselsky.

The President addressed the veterans with gratitude for their military feat and for standing guard over peace and truth about the events of the Great Patriotic War: “Live, dear veterans, and tell us how it really was. Do not let the Great Victory be stolen. We, the next generation, will do everything to ensure that no one and nothing has been forgotten".
