Vadim Krasnoselsky met with the American ambassador

American delegation headed by the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Moldova Dereck Hogan is on a working visit to Tiraspol. The purpose of the visit to the republic is to meet with the PMR President. Welcoming the diplomats, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted the traditional character and systematic interaction, as well as the constructivism in the Pridnestrovian-American contacts. PMR President mentioned the active participation of the United States in the work of the “Permanent Conference ...”, whose representatives are fully aware of the progress of the negotiation process, the slowdown of which this year is a well-known fact. Vadim Krasnoselsky drew attention of the interlocutors to quantitative indicators showing marked decrease in the number of meetings held in the “1 + 1” format and meetings of expert (working) groups, as well as on the quality of execution by the Moldovan side of the agreements reached earlier. According to Vadim Krasnoselsky, incomplete works at the level of experts and political representatives also affected the results of the October meeting in Bratislava, following which no protocol was signed. According to the PMR President, the Bratislava Protocol is a kind of final point. The non-signing is a consequence. The reasons for what happened are flaws at the preliminary stage. The participants of the “5 + 2” format will have to work on the errors. It has already begun. Discussions about this were conducted during the recent bilateral meeting between Vadim Krasnoselsky and Igor Dodon. The Pridnestrovian side also counts on the activity of mediators and observers, including Americans, the PMR President emphasized.

Another significant point, according to Vadim Krasnoselsky: “It is important not the number of agreements signed, but the quality of their implementation”.

The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues on the negotiation agenda. They touched on the topics of the Pridnestrovian-American interaction in various areas.
