Vadim Krasnoselsky visited the new square of the Heroes of the Great Patriotic War of Kamenka

The President visited the square of Heroes of the Great Patriotic War, located near the recently renovated House of Culture of Kamenka. The memorial complex was opened last month, on the eve of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory Day.

The basis of the square was the bas-reliefs of the Heroes of the Soviet Union from Kamenka - Fedor Zharchinsky, Ivan Soltys, Pyotr Vershigora, Ivan Koval and the full holder of the Order of Glory Ivan Krachevsky. You can read brief biography under the name of each hero.

The Head of the local state administration Vladimir Bychkov, said that separate memorials to the heroes of the countrymen could previously be found in different settlements of the region. Now, residents and guests of Kamenka can pay tribute to the heroic ancestors here in the Square of Heroes of the Great Patriotic War. The territory is landscaped, benches and lanterns are installed, paths are paved with tiles. This place has become another attraction of the city. Vadim Krasnoselsky thanked the leadership of the state administration of the city and the region for the work done and the contribution to the preservation of historical memory.

The interlocutors discussed progress in the improvement of the Kamenka park named after Wittgenstein during the meeting. To date, the work is underway to create an entrance group. When laying the foundation, builders encountered difficulty in the form of deposits of stones they had to use drilling equipment. Pipes for future columns have already been purchased. In the near future - fencing of the park and paving paths. The President drew attention to the need for their improvement not only inside the park zone: the paths leading to the park will also be put in order. The first stage of work is planned to be completed by the 30th anniversary of the republic.
