Visit of Vadim Krasnoselsky to the State Duma of the Russian Federation

Visit to the legislative body of the Russian Federation is an important component of the visit of the PMR President to Moscow. To date, a number of meetings are planned with Russian deputies. Vadim Krasnoselsky is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev.

One of today's meetings is with the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs and Relations with Compatriots Konstantin Zatulin. Welcoming him, Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed gratitude for the cooperation aimed at strengthening and developing Pridnestrovian-Russian relations.

Before starting the discussion of the issues included in the work agenda, the interlocutors exchanged impressions regarding the recent visit to Pridnestrovie of representative delegation – the Heroes of the Soviet Union and Russia, scientists and public figures who had repeatedly been in space. According to Konstantin Zatulin, who led this delegation, the guests of Pridnestrovie are impressed and fascinated by the republic. Vadim Krasnoselsky, for his part, emphasized that this acquaintance is an honor and pleasure for him and every Pridnestrovian.

Another topic of the conversation that preceded the working discussion was the anniversary of the experienced Russian parliamentarian Arthur Chilingarov. A famous scientist-researcher celebrates his 80th birthday. An exhibition dedicated to his activities has been organized in the building of the State Duma. The interlocutors spoke about the merits of the social activist, oceanologist, and legislator representing the Duma committee on international affairs.

Speaking about Russian-Pridnestrovian cooperation, the participants in the meeting noted that interaction with representatives of the State Duma is systemic. The interest of the parties in a constant constructive dialogue is due to the fact that 220 thousand Russian citizens live in Pridnestrovie. According to Vadim Krasnoselsky, 150 thousand Pridnestrovians have reason and for the most part desire to acquire Russian citizenship, but due to circumstances they were forced to obtain passports of other states - Ukraine and Moldova in previous periods. The solution to this problem is one of the priority tasks today. Work in this direction is underway.

Another traditional topic for discussion within the walls of the State Duma, raised by the Pridnestrovian leadership, is the possibility of using maternal capital in the republic. Vadim Krasnoselsky, noting that the reasoning of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation is understandable, emphasized that the option proposed by the Pridnestrovian side to use the funds of capital for education in the PMR universities is absolutely transparent and controlled. There are proposals related to the allocation of this money to the construction of affordable housing. The initiative is more difficult to implement, but also having the right to life, the interlocutors agreed.

They talked about health insurance policies. They discussed a possible mechanism by which Pridnestrovian Russians could use the corresponding certificates legally. Vadim Krasnoselsky cited a number of specific examples when the provision of medical care to Pridnestrovians located in Russia was possible only with the participation of the Pridnestrovian Official Representative in Moscow.

The meeting participants exchanged views on gas supplies, talked about the course of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova, and discussed various aspects of the Pridnestrovian-Russian interaction.
