Vadim Krasnoselsky, welcoming the guests of the event, noted that the Representative Office is an important element of systematic work with compatriots. Its activities are primarily aimed at protecting the interests of Pridnestrovians living permanently or temporarily in the Russian Federation.

The PMR President told the audience about the origins of the formation of Pridnestrovian statehood, about the main stages of the development of the republic. Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed confidence in the need to debunk existing myths about Pridnestrovie. He emphasized that informing the world community about the real life of the country is one of the tasks facing the official mission.

The Head of the official representative office Leonid Manakov acquainted the participants of the event with the results of the first year of work. He said that during 2019, approximately a thousand Pridnestrovian citizens applied for various kinds of assistance to the representative office. The most common topics of applications are obtaining citizenship of the PMR, military service, recognition of various documents, including sick leave issued in Pridnestrovie. Leonid Manakov emphasized: the representative office manages to resolve many of these issues on its own. In addition, the official representative office maintains direct contacts with authorities in Moscow, actively interacts with public organizations, and serves as a venue for various cultural and informational events. Meetings with compatriots are regularly held at the official representative office during working visits of Pridnestrovian leadership to Moscow. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky held four such meetings over the past year.

In the course of the meeting, the participants of the round table were shown a presentation on modern Pridnestrovie and its development - both economic and social. They talked about the PMR industry and creation of new jobs in the republic. They spoke about dynamic work in improving the infrastructure of cities and regions of Pridnestrovie and the investment attractiveness of the state. They talked about the steps that the leadership of the republic is taking to form a positive image of the republic in the global information space, about what is already done and what remains for local tourism development.

Vadim Krasnoselsky, speaking about the country's priorities, goals, tasks and long-term plans, said that the state is developing in accordance with the basic document - the Development Strategy of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for 2019-2026.

The event participants praised the integrated approach of the republic’s leadership to the development of Pridnestrovie. Chairman of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy Alexei Pushkov noted that Pridnestrovie now has additional moral and political grounds for country creation.

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed confidence that recognizing the independence of the PMR is a technical issue and it is possible to bring its solution closer only through the internal comprehensive development of the state.

Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory is another topic of the meeting. The participants in the round table spoke of the need to adhere to a single course to preserve the memory of the great feat of the Russian people and the fight against falsification of history.
