Pridnestrovians honored the memory of the deceased defenders the day of anniversary of the republic

The 30th anniversary of the founding of the Pridnestrovian state fell on a difficult year, when not only the republic, but the whole world confronts the coronavirus pandemic and lives in completely new - quarantine - circumstances. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky has repeatedly noted that the virus should not stop life and development, emphasizing that it depends only on the responsibility and consciousness of everyone whether life in the country will freeze, whether the economy will roll back, or the forward movement will continue. Four months ago, in order to ensure the safety of the population of the republic, it was decided to postpone the military parade dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory. Traditionally, there are two similar events a year. Military parade is also held on the Republic Day. Despite the still difficult epidemiological situation, it was decided not to postpone the celebrations anymore, but to organize in compliance with security measures. A double parade was prepared, which included elements of both events. Residents of the capital and guests of the city are not limited in the opportunity to watch the festive action directly on the main square of Tiraspol. The only requirement is observance of the mask mode.

Official celebrations began at 8 am at the Memorial of Glory in Tiraspol. The leaders of the country and the city, clergy, foreign guests gathered near the legendary T-34 tank. They honored with a minute of silence all those who, at different times and during various wars and conflicts, gave their lives defending Pridnestrovie. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky on behalf of the entire Pridnestrovian people laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame. A scattering of flowers, as a symbol of everlasting memory, revived today the stone slabs of the graves of the defenders and the foot of the monuments that make up the memorial complex of Tiraspol - the Defender of the PMR, the Afghan Warrior, the Chernobyl victims and the Grieving Mother.
