The Street lighting, the efficiency of the use of agricultural land and the condition of viaducts were discussed today at an expanded meeting initiated by the President

Participants in the extended meeting under the PMR President discussed today issues related to the road carpet of the central streets of villages of the republic and the motor roads of republican significance passing through them. The main speaker on this issue was Ivan Untu, the Head of the PMR Department of Construction, Architecture and Road Facilities of the Ministry of Economic Development. He recalled about the program for the reconstruction of street lighting networks, approved in 2018. It is financed from the road fund and at the expense of the State Unitary Enterprise Distribution System. The program is designed until 2022. The planned investment for five years is 68.8 million rubles. In 2018, they spent 3.6 million, in 2019 - more than five million. It is planned to spend 12.7 million rubles for these purposes this year. 808 thousand rubles will be allocated for lighting roads of republican significance located in the Slobodzeya district, 330 thousand will be allocated to the Dubossary district from the republican treasury, 523 thousand to Rybnitsa, and 143 thousand rubles to Kamenka. As for municipal roads, Tiraspol will receive 555 thousand rubles for their coverage, Slobodzeya and surrounding villages - 1.3 million, Grigoriopol district - 270 thousand rubles, Dubossary - 350 thousand, Rybnitsa - one million, Kamenka district - half a million rubles, said Ivan Untu. At the same time, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development noted that the money of the road fund, from which the reconstruction work of street lighting networks is financed, is sent other socially significant programs. Among them there are arrangement of parking lots, repair of sidewalks, arrangement of a network of storm sewers, reconstruction of traffic lights, including for the visually impaired, improvement of the territories of educational institutions, and the acquisition of road equipment. Ivan Untu said that one of the solutions to the problem is the proposal to transfer all electric networks located along the roads, both state and municipal, to the balance of State Unitary Enterprise “ERES” and to continue financing the reconstruction of existing and construction of new networks through investment unitary enterprise programs. In this case only consumed electricity will be paid from the road fund.

Another idea that was voiced at today's meeting is the use of solar energy for street lighting. The Government and the management of the Elektromash plant were instructed to study this issue and assess the prospects for implementation. Given that Pridnestrovie is located in an area where it has been sunny most of the year, the use of appropriate batteries is seen by Vadim Krasnoselsky as a feasible and cost-effective project.

They talked today about agriculture. The President returned to the question of the appropriateness of imposing on the duty to farmers growing grain crops for export, to allot part of the land for fruits and vegetables. This will allow more efficient use of land resources and ensure food security of the republic, Vadim Krasnoselsky is sure. Such a burden will not be a burden for agricultural producers, if approach the issue wisely, the President noted, recalling that the state is providing support to representatives of the agro-industrial complex growing vegetables and fruits. Speaking about the conscientiousness of land users and the efficient use of allotments, the President recalled the inadmissibility of growing in weed areas, in particular ragweed.

Another topic of the meeting is the assessment of the condition of overpasses. Initially, it was about allocating funds for a technical examination of the bridge at the entrance to Bendery from Tiraspol and the implementation of design and estimate work. During the discussion of the issue, they came to conclusion that it is necessary to examine similar engineering structures throughout the republic, since most of them have not been given attention for decades. The President instructed the Government to raise funds for measures to assess the technical condition of the republic’s viaducts.
