Pridnestrovie today celebrates the 28th anniversary of introduction of the Peacekeeping Forces of the Russian Federation

Quarantine circumstances still do not allow for mass events however the date significant for the modern history of Pridnestrovie has not been ignored. They laid flowers at the monuments to the peacekeepers in the republic the day of the entry of the Russian peacekeepers (July 29, 1992, Russian servicemen arrived at the Tiraspol airfield).

The PMR President lowered the carnations at the foot of the Arch of Peace "Blessed are the peacekeepers", established in 2017 between Tiraspol and Bendery. It is supposed that the road of peace passes through the wings, crowned with an Orthodox cross, and the bell located inside the arch symbolizes the passage of time. Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke today that time has no power over the memory of grateful Pridnestrovians. According to him, the unique peacekeeping operation operating on the banks of the Dniester has not lost its relevance and value for 28 years, and to this day the Russian military presence remains the basic component of peacekeeping in Pridnestrovie, the peculiarity of which is that the peacekeeping forces includes representatives of the parties to the conflict. The PMR President considers keeping of peace the most important result. Vadim Krasnoselsky considers the arguments that the operation should be reformatted to be inappropriate. The President recalled the recent provocative actions of the Moldovan combatants as an illustration. The problem remains, the Pridnestrovian-Moldovan issue is still open, therefore, the withdrawal of Russian peacekeeping forces is out of the question, Vadim Krasnoselsky considers.

The President expressed gratitude to all the peacekeepers involved in the peacekeeping mission on the banks of the Dniester, the Head of the Russian state and the RF Defense Minister for supporting the peacekeeping operation. Vadim Krasnoselsky is sure that the chosen road - the road of peace - is the only right way, and Pridnestrovie will not turn off the way.
