The prospects for vaccinating the population against COVID-19 in Pridnestrovie and the republic's readiness to launch this mechanism were discussed in the course of the meeting of the Operational Headquarters. The main issue is the availability of refrigeration equipment needed to store the vaccine. Requirements depend on its type. Pfizer, for example, requires 70 degrees of cooling. There are no such cameras in Pridnestrovie. The cost of one low-temperature freezer is from 5600 to 6200 Euros. It holds 86 packages of vaccine (83850 doses). The President instructed the Government to study the issue of purchasing one such refrigerator. As for the Sputnik V and Moderna vaccines, they are not so demanding on the temperature regime. Provision of minus 18 - minus 25 degrees is sufficient for storage. There are suitable chambers in all hygiene centers of the republic: seven units of 200 liters each. In addition, higher-temperature refrigerators have been installed in hygiene centers and 108 vaccination rooms, which will allow preserving opened packages until the moment the vaccine is used. Vadim Krasnoselsky instructed to write down the places of storage of vaccine materials and work out the issue of registering the incoming vaccine.
The President asked about the readiness of the Dubossary hospital to install a computer tomography scanner, which is expected to be delivered at the end of February. The premises are dismantled in accordance with the requirements, a separate power supply line is installed. The specialist who will conduct the computed tomography undergoes online training from Russian colleagues. He will work out his practical skills on the basis of the capital's hospital of veterans.
The provision of medicines is another topic of discussion within the framework of the Operations Headquarters meeting. The President was interested in whether the previously indicated problem of the deficiency of hormonal drugs was solved. The Minister of Health said that the batch ordered back in December was delayed due to the suspension of production, but now the purchased medicines are already in the republic and will be distributed to medical institutions.
