Working discussion with members of the Operational Headquarters

They discussed the growing load on the network of infectious hospitals in the course of the meeting of the Operational Headquarters under the President for prevention of the spread of coronavirus. More than 97% of the bed fund is occupied today despite the fact that the COVID hospital in Grigoriopol has recently resumed its work; additional beds have been deployed in the Slobodzeya hospital. It was decided to temporarily re-profile the Bendery Center for Mother and Child as a coronavirus hospital in order to increase it by another 315 units. The patients of this institution will be admitted to the mother and child center in Tiraspol. The President has given relevant instructions. One day is allotted for organizational and preparatory activities. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that the newly opened branches should be provided with trained personnel and medicines in a timely manner. If necessary, Bendery pediatricians and other specialized specialists will be sent to the capital's center, the load on which will naturally increase. Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that the concept of "out-of-town patient" should not be used during the pandemic.

Speaking about the situation with the staffing of children's hospitals, Vadim Krasnoselsky outlined increased number of complaints from citizens who complain about the lack of pediatric specialists. The President emphasized that this problem has long been heard and does not lose its relevance, despite the fact that the Pridnestrovian State University has a medical faculty, which annually graduates young specialists. The shortage of personnel in certain sectors of the healthcare sector indicates the lack of consistency in work that should be based on close interaction between the university and the Ministry of Health, Vadim Krasnoselsky considers. He noted that in the near future he will hold a separate meeting devoted to this issue.

Special attention was paid during the meeting of the Operational Headquarters to the situation with provision of medical institutions with oxygen. The growing burden on infectious diseases hospitals, as well as the large number of patients in need of oxygen support (about three hundred coronavirus carriers are classified as critically ill at the moment), increase the need for oxygen concentrators and cylinders. Over five hundred oxygen cylinders were replaced in the republican clinical hospital just yesterday. The turnover is very large, the slightest disruption in supply is fraught with irreparable consequences. Delivery logistics and clear replacement mechanism are important, the chief doctors noted. The option of placing an oxygen cylinder filling station on the territory of the capital (now in Rybnitsa) was discussed.

They discussed the meeting about the situation with the childhood morbidity of COVID-19. The registration of infections among schoolchildren began to decline with the onset of the vacation period according to the chief sanitary doctor of the republic Natalya Beril. At the same time, an increase in the incidence rate among employees of educational institutions was noted. Members of the Operations Headquarters attribute this to the presence of staff of some schools in their workplaces. Vadim Krasnoselsky categorically forbade the presence of teachers and other employees of educational institutions within the walls of schools during the holidays that were extended precisely in order to disunite collectives at the peak of morbidity. The epidemiological situation in the preschool sector is still unfortunate. According to the latest data, two kindergartens and 48 separate groups have been quarantined.

As for the organization of the educational process after April 1, the decision on its form will be made at the next meeting of the Operational Headquarters - on Thursday.
