The President visited the baby canned food factory in Tiraspol

The real sector of the economy of Pridnestrovie is diversified. The production line is represented by more than five hundred organizations, 207 of them are from Tiraspol. The leader in the processing segment of the food industry is a baby canned food plant. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky visited it today.

Established in 1956, the plant not only provided canned food and juices to the local population, but also systematically supplied significant quantities of products to the Soviet republics and exported to non-CIS countries. The company had difficult times. The streak of bad luck was overcome in 2006. Production is gradually increasing. If 600 tons of products were produced per year after the privatization of the plant, today it is 8000 tons. They expect to increase the figure to 10000 tons next year. They are mastering new directions. The raw material base is local. The range includes green peas, sweet corn, beans, tomato paste, broccoli and cauliflower. In addition to traditional conservation, they use such methods of preserving agricultural products grown in Pridnestrovie as freezing and vacuum, the employees of the enterprise told the PMR President. They export it to Russia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece. Work is underway to resume cooperation with Turkish partners. New sales markets are being studied - taking into account the expansion of the range. It is planned to launch a line for quick freezing of spinach next year. The equipment has already been purchased.

They said during the conversation with the PMR President that an important aspect for the successful development of the enterprise is the availability of its own raw material base. The "field-plant" system allows to minimize dependence on suppliers and the instability of raw material prices, as well as to fully control the quality of the plant's products.

Vadim Krasnoselsky asked about the staff of the baby canned food factory. The director of the plant Alexander Baragin said that 57 people are on the staff on a permanent basis. Up to 350 additional workers are hired during the high season (June to November). They work in three shifts. About two hundred people are involved at the moment.

The President visited the factory workshops, examined the production lines, refrigerators. The prospects and directions of the enterprise development were discussed. They talked about measures of state support.
