The President honored the memory of the Pridnestrovians who died in 1992 from the weapons of the Moldovan security forces

Residents of Bendery and guests of the city, the country's leadership, military personnel, clergy, social activists, and the youth gathered at the Memorial of Memory and Sorrow, opened on the first anniversary of the Bendery tragedy. A memorial and mourning ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers was held here. The memory of the dead was honored with a minute of silence. The armed aggression of the Moldovan security forces cut short the lives of hundreds of Bendery residents and those who defended the peaceful town. Their names were heard today for all to hear.

The PMR President laid flowers at the Eternal Flame and the pedestal of the BMP – the infantry fighting vehicle, the crew of which died in battle on June 22, 1992. A basket of live carnations from the PMR President and the entire Pridnestrovian people was at the monument to Lieutenant General Alexander Lebed. The presidential wreath was lowered to the memorial wall under a triple volley, the memorial wall as if covering the city with wings.
